Pak Mie or 'uncle Mie' and his wife Mak Intan, have devoted their lives to saving stray dogs and cats in Kedah state, Malaysia. What makes his story so unique, is that they are Muslim Malays. Not only are they battling the government and the local communities, but they are also under great pressure from religious elements, who consider it 'haram' or forbidden to even touch a dog.
